Transition Day

After over a year of intensive planning, the Glendale Fire Department changed the way it provides emergency medical service to the Glendale community on January 9. Paramedics used to staff the rescue ambulances and some fire engines; now, the units that tend to arrive first at emergency incidents - the fire engines - will all be staffed with two paramedics. Above, Firefighter/Paramedic Joe Donnelly explains the additional equipment that will now be carried on every paramedic engine.
