The Great Southern California ShakeOut Drill
At 10 a.m. on November 13, the Glendale Fire Department joined other City of Glendale departments as well as public safety agencies throughout the region for a simulated earthquake to test our preparedness. Those who chose to participate in the drill were encouraged to practice the "Drop, Cover, and Hold On" procedure, and also to take this opportunity to evaluate their disaster preparedness at home, at school, and in the workplace. Why? An enormous earthquake is an inevitable part of our future, and the ShakeOut Drill is our chance to practice what to do when it happens. Inspect your environment for items that might fall and be damaged or cause injury and secure them. Go to www.DareToPrepare.org for more information.
